Boater Safety
Safety is our number one priority. We require our renters to have prior boating experience.
This can be in the form of a boater safety certificate, certification, professional training, or hands-on experience.
Please note: Florida law requires anyone born AFTER 1988 to have a safety certification to rent a boat.
Options are available for completing the certification here in Key Largo.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to have a boater safety certificate to rent a boat?
If you were born after 1988, yes.
If you were born before 1988, we strongly encourage it.
Safety is our first priority.
We also require prior boating experience and reserve the right to not rent if we deem it unsafe.
When can we pick up the boat and when do we have to be back?
Our normal Full-Day rental check-out time is 8:00 a.m. and we ask that you return the boat no later than 5:00 p.m.
If something happens and you can't make the 8:00 a.m. check-out time, that is just fine! All we ask is that you coordinate with us so we can meet you at the dock. We're all friends and it gets hot out here...
Can I rent a boat for more than one day?
Absolutely! We love multi-day rentals.
Instructions for booking multiple days can be found in on the Meet the Fleet page.
If you need further assistance, feel free to give us a call!
Do I need a fishing license?
You do if you want to go fishing.
But don't worry! There is a bait and tackle shop just five minutes up the road -- we can give you directions.
Our boats do not carry fishing licenses, nor do we sell them. We also do not sell bait or tackle.
Please note that it is your responsibility to know local fishing laws and regulations, and to come prepared with the proper equipment and license.
Can we scuba dive from the boat?
Unfortunately, due to the inherent risk of scuba diving, we can not allow scuba diving or any activity involving ‘compressed gasses.’
It’s an insurance thing.
Never fear - We have several excellent dive shops that we can refer you to.
